Governor Chris Christie nominates a Toms River Lawyer to be Ocean County’s newest Prosecutor.

Joseph Coronato, 61, has been named to succeed Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford. Presently, Coronato serves as the Municipal Attorney of Bayhead, Jackson, Mantoloking and Ship Bottom. The longtime Republican is the Chairman of the Ocean County College Foundation and he’s a former Deputy Attorney General.

Christie also nominated First Assistant Prosecutor James McClain, 54, of Mays Landing to replace Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel. Terms for both offices conclude at the end of this month. Nominations must meet State Senate approval.
