It's hard to believe that just over 5 years ago Mike Trout was playing baseball for Millville High School.

Today should be the pinnacle of Trout's professional baseball career, as he's expected to be named the American League Most Valuable Player. The announcement will come later today.

This will cap off quite a year for one of the youngest players in the Major Leagues. During the summer, Trout was selected the MVP of the All-Star Game. Back in March, Trout signed a contract extension with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim reportedly worth $144.5 million over the next six years.

Not bad for a kid from Millville, huh?

Congratulations, Mike!
