The "Live in Somers Point" campaign, developed under the direction of the Somers Point Economic Development Advisory Commission and marketing agency Suasion Communications Group, is designed to showcase the historic bayside town as an affordable primary residence or second home location at the Jersey Shore.

"We are proud to announce our home buyers campaign in response to the growing demand for homes at the Jersey Shore. From centrally located cozy cottages and ranches in friendly neighborhoods to dockside condos to magnificent mansions overlooking the water, Somers Point offers homes for every lifestyle, need and budget," Somers Point Mayor Jack Glasser said in a news release Tuesday.

David Hughes, chairman of the Marketing Committee of the Somers Point Economic Development Advisory Commission said the sampaign presents a great opportunity for the community.

"I am a resident of Somers Point. When I look at the cost of the barrier islands which are rapidly becoming unattainable, there is such a great opportunity here in Somers Point. We thought it would be wonderful to give people an alternative to these other seaside communities where prices are outrageous and many of the properties don't even have a view," Hughe ssaid. "We have our own beach here, we have docks and restaurants.  Everything you need is within walking distance."

The campaign features a new website, www.liveinsomerspoint.com and video http://liveinsomerspoint.com/somers-point-nj-video/ along, with a marketing campaign to encourage potential homebuyers to consider the city as a destination.

"As a resident and business owner in Somers Point, I couldn't imagine any homebuyer who wouldn't want to consider this city. Somers Point is walkable, bikeable and offers incredible opportunities to get on or in the water," said Michael Bray, Somers Point Economic Development Advisory Commission Chairman. "There are incredible bay front views, boating, fishing and crabbing here along with scenic recreational parks, a picturesque bike path, an 18-hole professional golf course, an historic walking tour of the City and a pedestrian-friendly bridge with incredible vistas, all within minutes of area beaches and beach resorts."
