Tropicana Hires 3 Former Atlantic Club Execs
Three former executives at the shut-down Atlantic Club Casino Hotel have found new jobs with one of the companies that bought and closed the casino.
The Tropicana Casino and Resort says it hired the ex-employees, each of whom worked in player development, which generally involves forming relationships with customers and encouraging them to come back frequently.
“Each new team member brings unique perspective and expertise to the table, and is experienced at providing loyal casino guests with VIP experiences,” said Steve Callender, Tropicana’s general manager. “I look forward to working with each of them and hosting their guests.”
Together, Tropicana Entertainment and Caesars Entertainment bought the Atlantic Club for a combined $23.4 million just before Christmas and decided to close it down. The Tropicana bought the gambling equipment and customer lists; Caesars got the 801-room hotel.
Fern Farmer is a 30-year veteran of the casino industry who most recently was the Atlantic Club’s executive director of customer development.
Roseanne Moffa has 29 years’ experience and worked at the casino in its early days in marketing, player development and other fields.
Marion Pistoia has 24 years’ experience and was most recently director of player development at the Atlantic Club.
Earlier this week, The Golden Nugget Atlantic City hired Adrian Ford as its new executive director of player development. He did the same job for the Atlantic Club.
The Atlantic Club closed down Monday after having been sold last month in a bankruptcy court auction. About 1,600 workers lost their jobs.
The Maryland Live! casino held a job fair this month for Atlantic Club employees and hired two dozen workers for their Hanover, Md., facility. Another 40 have been called back for a second round of interviews that could lead to job offers, spokeswoman Carmen Gonzales said.
