This past Saturday morning, I spent two hours doing a live broadcast from Lumber Liquidators on the Black Horse Pike in Pleasantville. (Although, I was told, technically, it's Egg Harbor Township and/or West Atlantic City.)

I was sincerely amazed by the choices of flooring! I've been a homeowner for about 25 years - yet I've never shopped for flooring.

For some reason I thought hardwood flooring came in two or three different styles, and that was pretty much it. If you thought like I did, you'd be surprised to know the choices are virtually endless! All kinds of flooring choices are out there: colors, textures, sizes of planks, hardwoods, bamboos, even laminates.

I was so impressed with Lumber Liquidators that I took my wife over to the store to check it out. While our home is less than ten years old, we've been talking about redoing some of the flooring.

Our first room that we really want to redo is our kitchen. It's a big kitchen, and that's where we spend a lot of time - cooking, eating, talking, making out on the floor.... (Kidding. We don't talk much in there.....)

Seriously, as you can see by the photo, our kitchen is very light. We've decided we need to start bringing in more color. Since we've never been happy with the flooring, and it shows dirt real well, we're thinking about getting new flooring.

At Lumber Liquidators, we've been intrigued by the idea of putting hardwood into the kitchen. Sure, it might not be everyone's choice, but we've seen it in a few homes and like it.

At Lumber Liquidators, they have several flooring examples built right into the showroom, so you can really get a good idea of what they look like.

Here are four examples that we like. Please, take a look and let us know your opinion.

I'll let you know in a few days what we pick, and if we decided to go forward with new flooring.
