If you're a TV buff then, you were plopped on your couch with a glass of wine ready for the cast of 'Game of Thrones' to walk the carpet last night. If not, don't worry. Here's what you need to know..

Last night was the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards!

Hosted by SNL's Michael Che and Colin Jost, this year's Emmys were slightly different. For one, the carpet was yellow, not red. Since last night was the 70th year, the Television Academy opted for a gold carpet. A nice touch, wouldn't you say?

As usual, most people thought 'Game of Thrones' would sweep up. The show to win the most Emmys this year, however, was Amazon's 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' scoring seven of the coveted statues.

'Game of Thrones' did score a win in the Best Drama Series category. Also, Peter Dinklage who plays Tyrion Lannister won Outstanding Supporting Actor In a Drama Series. Not too shabby for HBO considering the network was nominated for 108 Emmys across all of their shows including 'Barry', 'The Tale', and 'Westworld' and walked with a total of 23.

Netflix came in 2nd tying HBO with a total of 23 wins. With streaming now more popular than ever, HBO has some serious competition for next year in the quest for the top Emmy spot.

In addition to the awards, the first ever Emmy proposal happened last night! Check out ET's recap video below!
