Over the three-day Memorial Day weekend, health officials in Atlantic County reported 17 more people died from complications related to COVID-19.

The county announced 14 fatalities on Saturday and three more on Monday.

Saturday's announcement included nine men and five women, all with pre-existing health conditions. Seven of the fourteen were residents of long-term care facilities.

The nine men included four Pleasantville residents who were 51, 62, 70, 80-years-old; three Hammonton residents, two 66-year-olds and an 88-year-old; and two Linwood residents, ages 80 and 88. The five women included a 71-year-old from Absecon, an 86-year-old from Atlantic City, a 73-year-old from Egg Harbor City, a 91-year-old from Galloway Township, and an 83-year-old from Ventnor.

Monday's announcement included three more residents of long-term care facilities, including two men, ages 63 and 98, and a 91-year-old-woman, all from Northfield. All three had underlying health conditions.

The county also announced 110 new COVID-19 cases from Saturday through Monday, bringing the countywide total to 2,060.

As of Monday, 147 people have died from COVID-19 in Atlantic County and 712 residents have been cleared as recovered.
