
Atlantic City Cops: Two Arrested, Guns Recovered During Crash Investigation
Police say a car crash Saturday night in Atlantic City lead to two people being arrested on drugs and weapons charges.
According to Atlantic City Police, the crash happened around 6:30 Saturday evening at Mississippi and Arctic Avenues.
A press release says,
During the investigation, the occupants of one vehicle, Divier Silva and Ernesto Contreras-Jimenez, were arrested after each was found in possession of a loaded handgun. Silva’s handgun was equipped with a 30-round magazine. The officers also located more than nine ounces of marijuana in the vehicle.
Divier Silva, 25-years-old of Atlantic City, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, and possession of a large capacity magazine.
Ernesto Contreras-Jimenez, 20-years-old of Pleasantville, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone, and possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense.
Both men were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, according to police.
