Dirt Bike Rider Charged With Eluding in Middle Township
A man from Villas is facing charges after police say he fled from authorities Sunday afternoon.
Middle Township Police say they responded to Pennsylvania Avenue in Whitesboro around 2:00 Sunday afternoon after they received a report about a dirt bike rider that was driving erratically. Cops say when they located the bike, the driver fled the area at a high rate of speed.
An investigation revealed the driver was 27-year-old Paul G. Beerley of Villas.
Officers obtained a search warrant, which was executed at his residence, and the dirt bike was seized pending forfeiture.
Beerley was charged with 2nd degree eluding and 4th degree obstruction of justice; he was lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
