Garth Brooks Releasing Five-Part Book Series
Garth Brooks is gearing up to release the first of a five-part book anthology, Garth Brooks: The Anthology, this fall. Titled The First Five Years, the singer will detail the beginning of his career in the first issue.
The project marks the first book Brooks has ever written. As a bonus, new music will be included — five CDs featuring songs that that have never been heard, some written long before his debut album, plus outtakes, first takes, demos, and more will come along with the books.
The first part of the anthology will detail the beginnings of cutting "The Thunder Rolls" and how it was almost released by another artist. The book also gives insight to how "Friends in Low Places" and “The Dance” were almost never recorded, plus how "That Summer" was rewritten and rerecorded. Readers will also be able to hear the two different versions of "That Summer."
Even the Biggest Garth Fan Will Learn Something New From This
Part 1 also includes a first person account of how Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood met, and fans can listen to the first time she sang on one of Brooks' records, long before he released his debut album.
Additionally, the anthology will include 150 unreleased photos, sessions charts, tracking sheets and more. A 240-page hardcover version of The First Five Years will be released on Nov. 14. It's not clear when the four others will follow.
Brooks was recently announced as a headliner at Stagecoach 2018, where he'll be joined by Keith Urban and Florida Georgia Line. Perhaps this experience will make its way into the last part of Brooks' anthology.
