Atlantic City Boxer Returns To Fight At Tropicana This Summer
The Year 2024 has brought a busy Boxing schedule to Atlantic City and the return of Boxing to Tropicana Atlantic City.
On May 11th, Boxing Insider Promotions hosted a successful Boxing Show inside the Showroom at Tropicana Atlantic City. There were approximately 900 people in attendance for the first Professional Boxing Card hosted at Tropicana AC in seven years.
Boxing Promoter Larry Goldberg, originally from South Jersey, will bring his second boxing event to Tropicana Atlantic City's Showroom on Friday, July 26th. Undefeated Junior Middleweight Justin Figueroa will again headline this summertime Boxing Show.
Back in May, "Just In Time" Justin Figueroa from Atlantic City won by Technical Knockout over Antoni Armas. The man nicknamed "Mr. Atlantic City" will look to continue his rise from Boxing Prospect to Future Champion on July 26th against a to-be-announced opponent.
Justin Figueroa joined GameNight with Josh Hennig to talk about his last win and look ahead to his next fight in July:
"I'm always coming to show out in Atlantic City. The last event (May 11th) was such a success as you can see in the videos, from the (media coverage), a lot of people came to see what is going on - I believe we delivered and this event coming up (July 26th), this is going to be THE event of the summer....I'm training like a madman, training like an animal inside the ring. So I will deliver July 26th in the ring but I also want to deliver outside the ring (too)."
Boxing Insider Promotions Larry Goldberg is thrilled to have Undefeated Junior Middleweight Justin Figueroa back on the card for the next Boxing Event:
"Justin (Figueroa) is the lightning road that other things are going to happen because of and he has that star power, that star quality. - Atlantic City has somebody that they can believe in and they can watch his career grow."
Goldberg confirmed to 973 ESPN South Jersey the report by Boxing Hall of Fame Writer Dave Weinberg that Bruce Seldon Jr will also be on the July 26th Boxing Card at Tropicana Atlantic City. Seldon Jr won his Pro debut at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall by Knockout on June 15th.
A major factor in why Bruce Seldon Jr and others are joining the July 26th Boxing Card is because people know Justin Figueroa is a big draw in Atlantic City. And Boxing Insider Promotions Larry Goldberg sees "Mr. Atlantic City" as more than just another young up-and-coming Boxer:
"Atlantic City needs a star, Atlantic City needs a hero; Justin (Figueroa) is that guy at this time. (Justin Figueroa) is the future of Atlantic City - a (Boxing) prospect (that) Atlantic City can be proud of when they watch....(Justin Figueroa) is going to be an Atlantic City story for the next 50 years."
High praise and big expectations are not foreign to Justin Figueroa, who has not been slacking since his win on May 11th. Even during his vacation to Florida with his girlfriend last month, Figueroa was still doing some training down in South Florida.
Justin Figueroa understands that to reach his goals that he had to embrace the reality that being a Professional Boxing is a lifestyle. He has the self-awareness of someone who is older. He believes playing sports at Holy Spirit High School and throughout his life has laid the foundation to build the future he is working for in the Boxing Industry:
"I think I have always had great (ability to react) and (self) awareness when I play sports...because I have been playing sports my whole life. - All my thinking is in one spot, it is Boxing in Atlantic City. What can I do to get to the next level, how can I get better every single day; So everything I do and everything I think about is always trying to get to that next level and put me in the right place."
Joining Justin Figueroa and Bruce Seldon Jr. on the July 26th Fight Card at Tropicana Atlantic City Showroom will be 2024 National Golden Glove Champion Marco “El Tiburon” Romero. More fighters and matchups will be announced in the coming weeks by Boxing Insider Promotions.
