A New Gastropub is Taking Over the Former Pizzeria Uno in Deptford

A brand new gastropub is coming to the former Pizzeria Uno in Deptford, which has been shuttered since it closed its doors back in 2024. That location opened in 2001, but closed because the landlord and franchise owner couldn't come to an agreement.

However, the building is about to open again with pizza, brews, and sunny vibes.

A New Life for the Former Pizzeria Uno

According to Mark at 42Freeway.com, the new spot will be locally owned and called the Sunny Rooster Gastropub at 1162 Hurffville Road, right next to the Fairfield Hotel.

What to Expect from the Sunny Rooster

Like Pizzeria Uno before it, the new spot will focus on pizza, but will also have a full menu and will serve beers and different drinks

Per 42Freeway, permits for the building have been posted, and work on the interior of the building has begun.

A Classic South Jersey Meet-Up Spot

I look forward to what the new owners bring to this location, which has been a stopping point to meet people when going to Philadelphia sporting events. Many times when I might go to a game with a friend who lives in the Gloucester County area, we would meet at Pizzeria Uno, have dinner, leave one of our cars there, and go to the game.

Target Opening Date

Per 42Freeway, if all goes well, the Sunny Rooster could be open sometime this fall in time for Eagles football, Phillies playoff games, and the start of the Sixers and Flyers seasons.
