Atlantic City, NJ, man charged in hit-and-run that killed Absecon teenager
A man from Atlantic City has been charged in connection to a hit-and-run crash earlier this year that claimed the life of a teenager.
The accident happened on February 17th on Route 30/Absecon Blvd.
Everette D. Williams of Atlantic City, NJ, Arrested
The Absecon Police Department says after a thorough investigation, 52-year-old Everette D. Williams of Atlantic City was identified as the driver involved in the incident.
This past Thursday, the U.S. Marshals Task Force successfully located Williams in the World's Play Ground and he was taken into custody without incident.
In addition to numerous traffic offenses, Williams is facing the following charges:
- Second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash
- Third-degree operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and being involved in a motor vehicle crash resulting in the death of a person
- Third-degree removal of vehicle identification number
Williams is currently being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
The Absecon Police Department thanked the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, the US Marshal’s Service, the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office, and the Vineland and Pleasantville Police Departments for their assistance in this case.
