Six teenagers, all between the ages of 14 and 17, have been arrested and charged in connection to recent carjackings in Atlantic City.

The Atlantic City Police Department says on Wednesday night, November 29th, officers responded to the beach block of South Raleigh Avenue in reference to a carjacking. There, they found a 68-year-old resident of Atlantic City suffering from non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the incident.

The next day, that vehicle was located by the Pleasantville Police Department, and during an investigation, two juveniles, later determined to be suspects in the carjacking, were reported as runaways by their families.

Those two were later arrested, and three other suspects were taken into custody as the investigation continued.

On the night of December 16th, two of the suspects involved in the Raleigh Avenue incident were arrested following a carjacking at Ocean Casino Resort.

At 10:49 PM, officers responded to the parking garage in reference to a 72-year-old victim from Brick, NJ, who had been pulled from their vehicle by three males.

The suspects stole the vehicle and fled the parking garage; the victim was not injured.

Police say they quickly located the vehicle but when the pursuit left Atlantic City, it was called off for safety reasons.

About 90 minutes after the carjacking, the vehicle was located in the 700 block of Arctic Avenue and three men in the area were arrested.

All six were taken to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
