Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, Man Pleads Guilty in Armed Domestic Violence Case

An Egg Harbor Township man potentially faces a number of years in prison after pleading guilty in an armed domestic violence case.

On Thursday, 32-year-old Shron Stotts pleaded guilty to a second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm without a permit charge in exchange for a recommended sentence of five years behind bars with 42 months of parole ineligibility.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says on April 10th of last year, Egg Harbor Township police officers responded to a domestic violence call where the victim stated that Stotts pointed a handgun in her direction while she was sitting inside her vehicle.

The victim provided officers with a description of the weapon, a gray semi-automatic handgun that was equipped with a purple laser sight.

By the time law enforcement arrived, Stotts had already fled the area. Police located an article of clothing near the scene which matched Stott’s description. Inside of the clothing, police located a gray 9mm semi-automatic ghost handgun with a purple laser sight containing nine rounds of ammunition, including four hollow point rounds.

Authorities said Stotts did not have a permit to carry a weapon in New Jersey.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 4th.
