Motorcyclist Killed in Crash With Horse Trailer in Egg Harbor Twp., NJ

Police in Egg Harbor Township say a motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a horse trailer late Saturday night.

The accident happened just after 11:00 on Mill Road in the Bargaintown section of the township.

Authorities say 41-year-old Anthony Canizzaro of Egg Harbor Township was traveling on a motorcycle westbound on Mill Rd. in the area Tremont Ave.

A 2002 Chevy Silverado pulling a horse trailer being driven by 36-year-old Rodolfo Solanomiranda, also of EHT, was traveling in the same direction.

The pickup truck and horse trailer were slowing to prepare for a turn into a driveway as the motorcycle was approaching at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle collided with the rear of the trailer.

Canizzaro was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other parties were injured, including the horses that were in the trailer.

Traffic was detoured for approximately 4 hours while the crash scene was cleared.

The crash is being investigated by Egg Harbor Township Police Officers Patrick Daly, Robert Moran, and Kevin Brady.
