
Philadelphia Man Found Guilty Of Atlantic City, NJ Murder
A Philadelphia man was found guilty of murder in Atlantic City by an Atlantic County jury.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Released The Following Information
On January 28, 2026, Jamar Jones, 37, of Philadelphia, PA, was convicted by an Atlantic County jury for first-degree murder, second-degree possession of a handgun for unlawful purpose, and second-degree possession of a handgun without a permit. The defendant was subsequently found guilty by the Honorable Pamela D'Arcy, P.J. Cr. of second-degree certain persons not to possess weapons, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Another Excellent Collaboration With The Atlantic City Police Department
On November 7, 2023, the Atlantic City Police Department responded to 26 South Florida Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey and located the victim, L.R.R. who had been shot. The autopsy confirmed that L.R.R. died by a gunshot wound to his head.

On November 7, 2023, members of Atlantic City Police Department responded to the area of 26 South Florida Avenue in Atlantic City, NJ and located the victim, L.R.R. who had been struck by gunfire. The autopsy confirmed that L.R.R. died by a gunshot wound to his head.
Atlantic City Police Detectives learned that the victim was in a fight with Jamar Jones, about 43 minutes prior to the shooting.
This fight and the shooting were captured on surveillance video. Law enforcement also confirmed that Jones purchased a mask at a convenience store just minutes before the shooting … and Jones returned to the area of the shooting.
Two More Key Dates
On December 11, 2023, Jones was charged with the homicide. Jones was a fugitive at that time.
On February 20, 2024, the Atlantic City Police Department's SWAT arrested Jones.
Jones attempted to elude the Atlantic City Police by jumping out of a third floor window of an apartment building located at 61 North Dr. Martin Luther King, Boulevard.
Jones sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries from the fall.
Sentencing
Jones will be sentenced on 26, 2026. The case was investigated by:
