Man Faces Child Porn Charges In Three South Jersey Counties
Hearing this piece of news today made me sick.
I grew up not too far from where this man lives, so it skeeves me out even more. NJ.com shared the news of a West Deptford HVAC technician that's now being charged with several counts of child porn-related crimes among others in Camden, Gloucester, and now Cape May County. Gregory Mahley is his name and he's apparently been recording girls in the bathrooms of multiple schools within each county.
The man faces welfare endangerment charges in addition to those that are child-porn related. Mahley was first met with official charges in Camden County, but soon was hit with more from other counties where he'd done HVAC work. Most recently, he picked up charges in Cape May County after authorities discovered cameras were installed in bathrooms at Cape May County tech.
The bathroom cameras were installed in multiple locations Mahley had done some HVAC work including a middle school in Camden County. The set-up was so elaborate, reports claim, that the cameras were located in air conditioning vents and fed back to a "home base", of sorts, that Mahley had set up in a utility closet.
Honestly, how parents can sleep at night is mystery knowing that there are these kinds of people lurking around out there. The incidents stem all the way back to 2013 with three specific dates being filmed in particular.
According to NJ.com, most incidents involve people that were children at the time, but are now fully-grown adults. All apparently have been notified.
Imagine being one of those people finding out you were filmed while underage like that? Disgusting. Hopefully, each victim will be encouraged to seek out any help he or she might need in dealing with this horrific news.
