If you've been waiting to take a road test for a driver's license or you need to visit a New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commision office in-person, your wait is almost over.

At his daily COVID-19 press conference on Friday, Gov. Phil Murphy announced two dates for NJMVC services to resume -- one firm and one tentative.

According to the governor, in-person customer service will resume at MVC offices on Monday, June 15th. Meanwhile, the MVC is hoping to resume things like road tests and issuing new licenses and permits two weeks later on Monday, June 29th.

NJMVC offices have been closed since March 15th as a measure to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the Garden State.

In mid-may, the NJMVC extended expiration dates of licenses, registrations, inspection stickers, and temporary tags that expired between March 13th and May 31st to July 31st. Documents expiring June 30th were extended to August 31st and those expiring July 31st were extended to September 30th.
