Philadelphia TV Reporter Dray Clark Charged In Domestic Assault Case
Dray Clark, a popular reporter, and anchor for Philadelphia's NBC10 was arrested on two separate occasions in the past week on charges of domestic assault, according to authorities.
Clark has been charged with 16 crimes including simple assault, making terroristic threats, harassment, and theft following an incident late Thursday (September 26) outside of the anchor's home in Chester, PA.
The criminal complaint from Clark's girlfriend alleges that the 41-year-old TV anchor struck her several times and put his hands around her throat, choking her.
The woman later entered Clark's home because her son was there at the time. That's when Clark allegedly continued to be violent with the woman, the complaint, which was obtained by the TV station, alleges.
NBC10 confirmed the news of Clark's arrest during Friday evening's 5 pm broadcast. In addition to Thursday's charges, the TV station also confirmed that Clark was arrested on September 21 in Wilmington, DE for a similar assault.
The reporter, who worked both weekday and weekend shifts for the station, has removed from the NBC affiliate's airwaves as the investigation into the serious allegations continues.
"Station management learned today that Dray Clark was arrested on both domestic violence-related cases. We take these allegations very seriously," the station said on Friday. "Effective immediately, Dray will be off the air pending the station’s investigation."
Dray Clark was arraigned in a Pennsylvania courtroom on Friday afternoon, with bail set at $20,000, NBC10 reports. The TV anchor is due to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on October 16, according to additional reporting from PhillyVoice.com.
