Thanks for Giving During Our Feed South Jersey Radiothon
Last Friday, we held our Feed a Family Radiothon to benefit the hungry in Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland Counties.
Thanks to your generosity, the current total stands at $32,325 in donations, with more money pledged to come in over the next several days, to be added to the total.
So far, that's enough to provide 96, 975 meals to the hungry in our area.
A big THANK YOU to everyone at Matt Blatt Kia and Matt Blatt Nissan who providing matching funds for the fund-raiser.
Donations are still being accepted. You can find out more about doing that right here.
All money raised is being handled by the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, with a local office in Egg Harbor Township.
According to the Community Food Bank,
The Community FoodBank of New Jersey works hand in hand with more than 1,000 community partners in the fight against hunger. New Jersey faced a disproportionate impact from COVID-19, with a rise by 56% in food insecurity—greater than the expected increases nationwide and in our neighboring states of New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland Counties now lead the state in food insecurity due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, 1 in 5 children in New Jersey is struggling with hunger. Sadly, Cape May County is number one for food insecurity among children, with 1 in 4 children projected to be affected.
Again, thank you for your kindness and generosity. Your donations will go a long way toward helping many people in our area that have been struggling with hunger.
