Wildwood Named Most Dangerous City in New Jersey for 2020
A national website is pointing at Wildwood as "The Most Dangerous City in New Jersey."
Roadsnacks is out with its list of the most dangerous cities in the state, and the Top 10 includes Bridgeton at #5, Millville at #6, Atlantic City at #9, and Vineland at #10.
Here's what the editors have to say about Wildwood:
Wildwood earns the top spot on this list mostly by having a terrible rate of property crime, with residents facing a ridiculously high 1 in 16.0 chance of being the victim of a property crime in 2017.
That means that, statistically, almost every neighborhood in Wildwood has at least one resident who’s the victim of theft or arson each year.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Wildwood totally disagrees. His comments can be found here.
As to how Roadsnacks compiled their list:
We looked at violent crimes and property crimes in cities with a population of 5,000. That left us with 354, said, Jersey cities. Folks, the cities that made our list have robberies happening in broad daylight, car jackings, and daily shootings. There are neighborhoods in these cities that you shouldn’t drive thru, ever, and there are areas that you definitely shouldn’t be in after dark.
