Little Big Town released their last record, ‘The Reason Why,’ in 2010, and now they’re hitting the studio once again with the goal of bringing to life their next release, which will be their fifth as a band. For this project, the group is teaming up with producer Jay Joyce, who has worked with artists like the endlessly successful Eric Church and the Wallflowers.
Few things are as inherently southern as iced tea and country music. Perhaps that’s why country mega-trio Lady Antebellum have partnered with the biggest tea brand in the United States, Lipton, to promote the beverage to their fans across the country. Unilever, the company that owns Lipton and works in partnership with PepsiCo, recently announced plans to unroll a giant marketing campaign with Lady Antebellum in 2012, including national ads on TV, in print, on the radio, on the Internet and more.
If you’re having a particularly difficult time choosing your prom theme for this year — the Vegas theme is a little tired and you’retired of standing by a cardboard miniature of the Eiffel Tower — Lady Antebellum are offering up a pretty compelling alternative. The country trio would like to suggest a different option, and they’re even willing to come help you pull it off. How about an ‘Own the Night’-themed prom?
The Academy of Country Music just unveiled the lineup for this year’s ACM Weekend on Fremont Street Experience, which will take place the Friday and Saturday leading up to the ACM Awards (March 30 and 31) in Las Vegas. The packed-out lineup for the event will feature several ACM nominees, as well as a handful of guests.
Suspicion is running high on Brad Paisley‘s tour with Scotty McCreery and the Band Perry. After McCreery pranked Paisley last Saturday night (Feb. 25) at their Springfield, Mo. show, the young singer started watching his back more than normal. And, with only today and tomorrow (March 3) left in their run together, McCreery must just be itching to see if Paisley’s going to retaliate.
Perhaps it was Taylor Swift‘s recent ‘Vogue’ cover that inspired the editors of the Australian edition of Harper’s Bazaar to put the glamorous ‘it girl’ on the front of their April issue. Whatever the inspiration, Swift can be seen on the cover in a black and gold shimmering Gucci dress — priced at $10,000 — that nods to the ’80s with its bold, almost geometric pattern, but is more reminiscent of a swanky flapper dress from the ’20s.
Dolly Parton is the muse in a new documentary that’s set to debut at the 2012 Nashville Film Festival, which runs the week of April 19-26. Though the appropriately titled ‘Hollywood to Dollywood’ might sound like a documentary about the Queen of Country Music herself, it actually chronicles the adventures of two identical twin brothers, Gary and Larry Lane, who are hoping to get Parton to star in their screenplay ‘Full Circle.’
Miranda Lambert confirmed that she’s working on a television series that’s loosely based on her childhood in Texas. In a recent interview with Dan Van from Albright & O’Malley, the country gal talked more about the the show, which is rumored to be about a boy and a girl — likely inspired by Lambert and her brother — who help their private investigator parents solve crimes.
Jason Aldean might sport a cowboy hat most of the time, but in the occasional behind-the-scenes video we’ll see him looking like the all-American guy in a baseball cap, a T-shirt and jeans. Recently, Aldean took it a big step further, stepping out of the world of pearl snaps, snakeskins and belt buckles to don a uniform of a different kind: an Atlanta Braves baseball uniform, complete with cleats and all.
At the beginning of last year, news sources started reporting that Shania Twain was going the Celine Dion route and planning for a residency show on the Las Vegas strip. Now, more than a year later, the ‘Any Man of Mine’ singer is in pre-production for the show, according to CBS Las Vegas.
It would seem that someone out in the media cosmos is randomly throwing out potential beaus for admittedly — nay, adamantly — single country sweetheart Taylor Swift, and each time they’re catching like wildfire. The teen sensation likely doesn’t have enough hours in the day to deflect all the dating rumors that have been thrown her way as of late. Every time she talks to a guy, meets him for dinner or glances up in his direction, she’s smacked with a dating question mark. And this time, her suspected match is NFL star Tim Tebow.
February 26 would have been Johnny Cash‘s 80th birthday, and while the country legend is no longer here to celebrate the occasion with his fans, those fans have come up with more than one way to honor his memory. As a part of the legendary Austin City Limits TV show, country stars Kenny Chesney, Ronnie Dunn, Kris Kristofferson, Jamey Johnson and more will be performing at Austin’s Moody Theatre to pay tribute with the ‘We Walk The Line: A Celebration of the Music of Johnny Cash’ concert.
