George Strait is a legend in country music, and now he's the 2014 ACM Entertainer of the Year.

The singer's rise to the top began with his first No. 1 single, 'Fool Hearted Memory' in the summer of 1982, and throughout the years, he's solidified his standing as one of the most revered country music artists. He won Entertainer of the Year in 1989, and now 25 years later he's won it again.

The competition for 2014 Entertainer of the Year was fierce, with reigning champion Luke Bryan in the running as well as Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift. However Strait ended up with the hardware, and every single nominee for the prestigious award jumped up and cheered as his name was announced.

"Wow," said Strait, looking down at his award. "Thank you so much. I've always said I had the best fans in the world and I heard this was a fan-voted thing, so I rest my case," he stated before breaking into a chuckle.

"I tell you what; this is so amazing. It's been such an amazing past 30 years," said the singer. He also showed his gratitude toward MCA Records -- the only label he's ever been with -- as well as God and his family.

"I love all of you. Thank you so much," he said in closing. He truly is the Entertainer of a Lifetime.
