After seeing a bunch of pictures on Facebook of all of the ice on Delaware Bay, my family and I decided to check it out for ourselves this past weekend -- and it was really cool!

You've probably seen all of the pictures online showing Delaware Bay or the Cape May Canal being frozen-over. All of that ice caused the Cape May-Lewes Ferry to cancel some trips over to Delaware. To check it out for ourselves, my family and I took a trip to Sunset Beach Sunday afternoon. While a good portion of the ice had melted, all of the chunks were quickly floating out to sea as the tide was going out. Huge amounts of ice still covered the jetty there and it was really cool seeing the S.S. Atlantus wreck covered in fog as big blocks of ice floated by. The video below is in real-time -- the ice was moving that fast. It really looked like something that you would expect to see in Alaska and not here in South Jersey.
