Police in Atlantic City say first responders have not been able to locate a man who was behaving unusually, and jumped into the water when they approached him.

The incident happened just after midnight Tuesday morning, in the area of Sheldon Avenue. Police say they received a call about a man acting erratically - he jumped out of the window of a residence.

When police arrived, they attempted to approached the man - identified as Damon Malloy (also known as Damon Thompson). He was yelling and behaving unusually. Malloy then ran from police and jumped into the water off Murray Avenue.

Responders attempted to locate Malloy in the water, but were unsuccessful. At this point it's not known if he ever exited the water.
