Bye, Bye Montana. Petition to Sell the State to Pay Off Debt.
The U.S. debt has now reach $22 trillion. How on earth will we ever pay this off? Sell Montana of course! No we didn't come up with idea out of the blue, there are people who think this will solve the debt crisis plaguing our country. A petition has been created on Change.org to sell Montana to Canada. Yes, this is real life.
The petition states, "We have too much debt and Montana is useless. Just tell them it has beavers or something." The petition has over 16,600 signatures. Poor Montana. Well, not maybe not because people from Montana are jumping on board to this idea. One signer commented, "This Montanan totally supports the idea.' Again, poor Montana.
Another signer from Bozeman Montana wrote, "I'm Montanan and hoping to join Canada without the moving costs. Let's do this. Please adopt us." However, some of the supporters aren't the biggest fans of Montana. One wrote, "Who needs Montana anyway." Another wrote, "Who needs the giant horseflies that were all over the place when we visited...useless..." Leave Montana alone, what did they do to you?
I think people are being a little too harsh on Montana, it's not a useless state. There are 9 National Parks in the state including Yellowstone, Glacier, Big Hole, Little Big Horn Battlefield, and Bighorn Canyon National Parks. Montana also has 52 state parks and 15 ski resorts.
Just look at this beautiful photo of Glacier National Park.
If we are going to get rid of a state, let's get rid of North Dakota. It only has 5 National Parks and they're not as pretty as the ones in Montana. I know, I know if we are going to base the price on square mileage we would get more money from selling off Montana. We could also sell off North Jersey, I mean it would be weird for another country to own a small piece of land in the middle of the country, but hey beggars can't be choosers.
