You can expect a continuation of the nighttime closures on Rt.30 in Atlantic City weeknights for the next week.

Closures on Absecon Boulevard Bridge over Beach Thorofare in AC

Atlantic City Police say the closures on the Rt 30/Absecon Blvd Bridge in Atlantic City that began on Feb. 26 will continue through Thursday, March 14.

The closures are because of ongoing work on the bridge being completed from 9 pm until 5 am weeknights.

Closures Will Alternate Every Hour

Beginning at 9 pm. Thursday, March 7, until 5 pm Friday, March 8, and continuing on Monday, March 11 through Thursday, March 14.

Temporary 30-minute stoppages are scheduled on the Route 30 Bridge over Beach Thorofare in both directions, once every hour.

What Work is Being Completed?

Police say the stoppages are necessary to raise the drawbridge to remove and replace the existing bolts on the bridge. The work was initially scheduled to be finished by early  March, but the job is not complete.

For the contractor to safely access the work area, traffic will be stopped in both directions for 30 minutes every hour from 9 PM to 5 AM.

Suggested Detours

Motorists are advised to use the Atlantic City Expressway or the Black Horse Pike/Albany Avenue to avoid delays.

State troopers will be on the scene to assist with managing traffic.
