The New Jersey Craft Beer Industry has gone through a major evolution over the last decade. Many microbreweries have grown from being quaint locations for Craft Beer Enthusiasts who enjoy trying new brews to now popular drinking establishments where locals and visitors gather for a variety of reasons.

Some of the most popular Craft Breweries in South Jersey are located in Cape May County. While many Novice Craft Beer Fans are familiar with Cape May Brewing Company, there is a total of 10 Craft Breweries based in New Jersey's southernmost county.

The good news is one of South Jersey's best Craft Breweries is returning from a hiatus.  Formerly located in Ocean View, Ludlam Island Brewery is expanding and opening their new location this month.

Where is Ludlam Island Brewery's New Location?

Ludlam Island Brewery is inviting everyone to the Grand Opening of the brand-new location at 2051 Dennisville-Petersburg Road in Woodbine. At 5 pm on Thursday, May 16th the public is invited to the new Ludlam Island Brewery featuring more than just great Craft Beer.

The former home of Mouse Trap Lanes will feature a full kitchen and bar bringing a new experience to South Jersey. The new location allows Ludlam Island Brewery to not just produce more Craft Beer, but a large area for indoor dining, an extensive bar, and an outdoor deck.

In a press release sent to Townsquare Media, Owner William Topley talked about this new chapter for Ludlam Island Brewery:

"We are so excited for everyone to see the new place! We poured our hearts and souls into creating this new space for Woodbine and the surrounding communities. - We're aiming for something completely new to South Jersey. We've created a Beer Fest/Food Truck Vibe in a relaxed atmosphere. The new venue has given us the ability to make more beer and offer a space to the local community that they can call their own"

I received a sneak peek of the food menu that will be served at the new Ludlam Island Brewery and the menu features:

-Traditional American Bar Appetizers
-An extensive Barbecue style food menu featuring Chicken and Pork sandwiches
-The option to order four styles of BBQ Meats by the half-pound

Also, the bar will be serving more than just Ludlam Island Brewery Craft Beers. They will be supporting other local businesses by offering customers spirits from local distilleries such as Stateside Vodka (Philadelphia) and Little Water Distillery (Atlantic City).

After the Grand Opening for the public on May 16th, Ludlam Island Brewery will be open seven days a week from 12 pm to 9 pm starting Friday, May 17th. With plenty of parking on-site, Ludlam Island Brewery's new location will have space for private parties and special occasions.

For me, I am unsure what I am looking forward to more: the return of one of the best Craft Breweries in South Jersey or the new food menu they will be offering!

The great local small businesses like Ludlam Island Brewery are one of my favorite aspects of Cape May County. Here is my top ten list of what I enjoy most about New Jersey's southernmost county:

The history of Cape May County predates the formation of the United States of America by about 100 years as it was one of the first counties established in what was originally known as the West New Jersey Provence. Cape May County's historical records go back as far as 1685 and the County was originally established in 1692.
