Voorhees native Justin Hagenman's long journey to Major League Baseball was completed on Wednesday.

After being drafted in the 23rd round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Hagenman, 28, has spent time with three different organizations, making his debut with the New York Mets.

Hageman, a Voorhees native and Bishop Eustace standout, made his MLB debut at Target Field in Minnesota against the Twins.  The right-hander gave up three hits and one run, striking out four in 3.1 innings of work. The last Mets pitcher to do that in his MLB debut was current Phillies ace Zack Wheeler in 2013.

"I thought he was really good", said Mets manager Carlos Mendoza. Threw strikes, mixed well, used all of his pitches. He gave us what we're asking." While at Bishop Eustace, Hagenman played for coach Sam Tropiano, was named to the 2014 All-Olympic Conference team, and was a member of the prestigious Carpenter Cup All-Star team.

He is the most recent Bishop Eustace baseball alumnus to reach the majors in recent years, including Tyler Phillips, Zac Gallen, and Devin Smeltzer. Here is a full list of players to reach the majors from Bishop Eustace.

Recently, former Mainland Regional star Chase Petty got a taste of what the big leagues are like while pitching for the Reds, facing the star-studded Dodgers lineup in a Cactus League game.

It's been quite a journey for the Penn State alum, pitching parts of four seasons in Triple-A and finally getting the call. He got to pitch in front of his friends and family, who made the trip to Minnesota to watch him pitch.

The Mets optioned Hagenman back to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, but he pitched well in that outing, so he will likely be back in New York at some point.  Either way, he has a memory that will last forever.
