Popular South Jersey Business Installing New EV Charging Stations
In the United States in 2025, one out of every five vehicles sold are EVs (Electric Vehicles). We have seen major advances in technology over the last 15 years, with numerous options for consumers who want to make the transition from traditional combustion engines to more eco-friendly vehicles.
We have come a long way in North America since Tesla made their deal with the US Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office. Today, every automotive company has their own line of alternatives to traditional vehicles, including Hybrids and EVs.
New Jersey is one of only six states in the United States with over 130,000 Electric Vehicles owned by state residents. With this reality comes a high demand for more EV Charging Stations to service one of the top EV states in the country.
How One South Jersey Business Is Stepping Up For EV Customers
For almost 60 years, the Ravitz family has owned and operated the ShopRite located adjacent to Interstate Highway 295 and State Highway 73 in Mount Laurel Township.
According to a press release, on Tuesday, September 16th, the ShopRite in Mount Laurel will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to debut the new Electrify America fast charging stations.
The parking lot located on Nixon Drive will feature six Hyper-Fast charging stations, capable of speeds up to 350 kilowatts (kW), fast enough to add up to 20 miles of driving range per minute. These charging estimates are based on the vehicle's compatibility to accept high-power charging.
The Ravitz Family owns and operates five ShopRite stores in Camden and Burlington counties in New Jersey. Brothers Stanley and Edward brought their first store in Cherry Hill and opened their first Shop N Bag in 1968. Stanley's sons Steve and Ron took over the business in 1984, rebranding their stores under the ShopRite banner. Ten years later they opened the Mt. Laurel ShopRite, which is still the centerpiece of the East Gate Shopping Center for the last 30 years.
There are 180 ShopRite Locations in New Jersey, and they are among the best supermarkets in The Garden State:
