After missing the 2025 summer season, a beloved Strathmere favorite is back.

A Surprise Soft Opening in Strathmere

Twisties on the Bay, at 236 Bayview Drive in Strathmere, made a surprise comeback, announcing they are back in business, with a soft opening, and social media reaction has been overwhelmingly positive.

"Wow, we are overwhelmed with the amount of love and support that was here last night on a non-advertised soft opening to the bar that everyone missed, the establishment posted on social media. Thank you to everyone throughout the night who gave their well wishes, and we can’t wait to serve you all summer."

Twisties was up for sale and has been sold for an undisclosed price and to an undisclosed new owner.

Jukeboxes, Coconut Heads, and Bay Views

The post on Twisties' Facebook page was its first since October 11, 2024. The business went up for sale and sat out the 2025 season, but is back with its famous old-fashioned juke box, and the coconut heads are still situated throughout the establishment. However, it appears everyone's favorite waterfront restaurant will be open again, giving patrons amazing views of the bay, with great food and drinks. The bar opened this weekend with a scaled-back menu and a ton of familiar faces.

A Legacy Since 1929

A fixture on the waterfront dating back to 1929, Twisties operated as a speakeasy from 1929 to 1933 and is a classic neighborhood bar where locals and visitors come together throughout the summer and fall. It brings a relaxed and no-frills atmosphere that serves great drinks with a classic bar menu that includes some house favorites.

If you were a fan of Twisties Tavern on the Bay or have never been there, you're in luck, it's back, so make sure to check it out this summer!

Twisties will be open Thursday through Sunday until June 18 and then it will open full time for the rest of the summer.
