We last visited this fun topic exactly three years ago. Our great listeners and readers shared their favorite comfort foods that they enjoy during bad weather. With a bunch of rain in the forecast for this week, I thought it was a great time to revisit this now.
Nancy Conover's Chicken Pot Pie
Just look how delicious this hearty dish looks.
18 years ago, we held a "Hurley in the Morning" Chicken Pot Pie Contest -- when a group of listeners brought their own versions to our studio. We had a live, on-air competition, featuring a VIP judging panel.
Nancy Conover won the competition and it was featured as a daily special at Gary's Restaurant in Pleasantville, New Jersey.
Nancy worked in the Gary's Restaurant kitchen with Chef Sid Vargas in order to create her recipe. It was very exciting.
Chef Michael Dangelo
Chef Michael shared a bunch of different comfort foods that you can enjoy during bad weather.
"Well, with the fall weather, I'm making chicken vegetable soup. And y regular weekly tomato paste sauce with last week's smoked brisket, plus Italian sausage and meatballs. Braised short ribs in the brazer since I can't smoke them," said Dangelo.

The second great dish is "Cheesey Shrimp and Grits," a Bobby Flay recipe, said Kristin.
