The Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department has had very busy June, 2025, continuing into July, 2025.

Their latest pursuit includes providing initial medical attention to a non-responsive infant on the beach in Atlantic City.

Baby Has Medical Emergency

This incident occurred on June 23, 2025, when members of the Atlantic City Beach Patrol were advised that a baby was ”non-responsive and in distress on the Michigan Avenue beach,” said the Atlantic City Police Department.

Atlantic City Police & Beach Patrol Respond

  • Atlantic City Police Lieutenant Thomas Flynn was first on scene and initiated immediate medical care.
  • Flynn was assisted by Captain Vince Granese, Lieutenant Kyle Deroo, and Lifeguard Nick Guidara.
  • Beach patrol personnel rendered care until the infant could be safely transported to the Boardwalk to an awaiting ambulance.
  • The baby was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division and was treated for what was determined to be a non-life-threatening condition.

Important Reminder From Atlantic City Police & Beach Patrol

The Atlantic City Beach Patrol will be on duty between the hours of 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. As a reminder, if you cannot see the lifeguard, the lifeguard cannot see you. Only swim on beaches that have a lifeguard on duty.
