An Egg Harbor City man has been charged in connection to several theft-by-distraction cases in Egg Harbor Township.

Vincent Saxon of Egg Harbor City, NJ, Arrested

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department says over the past several weeks, they have received three separate reports from victims who said their personal belongings were stolen while shopping at businesses along the Black Horse Pike.

In some cases, the offender used the victim’s bank cards to attempt purchases at other local businesses.

Following an investigation, police identified 56-year-old Vincent Saxon of Egg Harbor City as a suspect.

Late last week, arrest warrants were issued, charging him with multiple counts of theft, credit card theft, and related offenses.

This past Sunday, Saxon was arrested by the Atlantic City Police Department and he is currently being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.

The EHT Police Department said in a statement,

This agency would like to remind the public to remain vigilant and attentive to their surroundings in order to better deter those thieves who choose to victimize members of our community. This agency is committed to fully investigating these matters and will ensure those offenders, such as Mr. Saxon, are held to account for their unlawful actions.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
