The Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department really needs additional police officers.
Good news. Help is officially on the way.
The Latest Class
15 Atlantic City Police candidates have graduated from the latest class held at the Atlantic County Police Training Center.
On July 24, 2025, police academy graduation class #30 successfully completed their academy and academic process.
The ceremony took place at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
The following superior officers participated in the graduation ceremony:
- Atlantic City Police Chief James Sarkos.
- Atlantic City Deputy Police Andrew Leonard.
- Atlantic City Deputy Police Chief Christian Garofalo.
These three “Chiefs” presented each Atlantic City police officer with their graduation certificate.
Special awards were also presented to top performers during the graduation ceremony.
Chief Sarkos has confirmed that the 15 new police officers will be assigned within the operations division.

Atlantic City officers are graduates of Class # 30, as follows:
- John DeFeo (Sergeant Thomas Jerdan Firearms Proficiency Award).

- Ethan LaMaina
- Nicholas Leone (Officer Thomas J. McMeekin Award for Proficiency in Vehicle Operations and Physical Fitness and Intensity Award).
- Russell Lindsay (Class President)
- Seth Martinez
- Rodriguez Moreno
- Aayush Patel
- Nimit Patel
- Desiree Perez (Physical Fitness Award - Most Improved).
- Alexander Smith
- Armando Valdivieso
- Eric Vargas
The police graduation ceremony was held at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
