
Dramatic Video Shows Ocean County Cops Save Man From Burning NJ Home
One police department in Ocean County has released dramatic bodycam video of officers helping to save the life of a man in a burning house.
And if you've ever wondered what it's like to be a law enforcement officer and the range of situations that they encounter on any given day, this is a pretty good example.
Officers Arrive to Find House Fully Engulfed
The Stafford Township Police Department says on February 13th, Sgt. Woodring, SMPO Brown, Ptl. Otte, and Ptl. O'Rourke arrived at a house that was on fire and they saw a man attempting to jump from a second-story balcony.
Authorities described what unfolded by saying, "Through their quick thinking, teamwork, and selfless actions, the officers were able to safely apprehend the individual and prevent serious injury or loss of life."
Chief Praises "Truly Amazing" Heroics
Chief James Haldenwang said in a Facebook post, "This incident is a powerful example of the dedication and courage of our officers. What these officers did was truly amazing. Their quick, selfless actions undoubtedly saved this man’s life, and I am awestruck by the heroics displayed."

While this incident tragically resulted in the loss of a life, the department extended its condolences to the families and loved ones affected.
