Won the pre-trial season in a rout. Everything went their way. They expertly and meticulously collected a treasure trove of damning evidence against both Marty and La’Quetta Small.
Things looked very bleak for Marty and La’Quetta Small for most of the past two years.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office did not distinguish itself during this trial. This is a bad loss for them.
Judge Bernard DeLury Ruled Against Marty & La’Quetta Small Throughout
DeLury was supposed to be the trial judge. He did a magnificent job during the management of motions and other pre-trial activities.
DeLury ruled against Marty and La’Quetta Small at almost every turn.
This was supposed to be DeLury’s last trials (Marty and La’Quetta Small and Constance Days-Chapman).
However, DeLury retired before the first of the three criminal trials began.

Jury Took The Case During The Afternoon Of Tuesday, December 16, 2025
About one hour into their deliberations, the jury had a question for the judge. They wanted to hear back audio from January 3, 2024.
The jury listened to the audio and then concluded their deliberations for the day. They returned the next morning at 9:00 a.m. to continue their deliberations.
The jury listened to more audio over the course of three days before making their unanimous ruling in favor of Small.
Will La’Quetta Small Face Trial.
Likely no. After Marty Small ran the table, why would they have a second trial on the same matter?
The same result may hold true for Constance Days-Chapman, principal of Atlantic City high school.
