
Vineland Man Facing Major Drug, Gun Charges After Months-long Probe
A man from Cumberland County is facing a long list of drug and weapons charges following a months-long investigation.
The Vineland Police Department said on March 31st, its officers and the Cumberland County Tactical Response Team executed a search warrant on the 400 block of West Park Avenue.
As a result of a several-month-long investigation, 45-year-old Jerry Simms of Vineland was apprehended and charged with the following:
- Possession of CDS (Cocaine)
- Possession of CDS (MDMA)
- Possession of a Handgun
- Possession of a Handgun by a Certain Person
- Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
- Possession of a Firearm While Committing a CDS Offense
- Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute within 1,000 Feet of a School Zone
- Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute within 500 Feet of a Public Park
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
In a press release, the department said this case highlights its "ongoing commitment to targeting drug trafficking and illegal firearms in our community, especially in areas near schools and parks."

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
