Cumberland County, NJ, Killer Pleads Guilty in Fatal 2024 Shooting
A Cumberland County man is facing 30 years behind bars in connection with a fatal shooting last year.
This past Thursday, 35-year-old Eric Bundy-Johnson of Vineland pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, and related weapons charges.
Those charges stem from a shooting in Millville on October 26th, 2024, when Bundy-Johnson fired numerous rounds into a car that two people occupied; Bonnie Hitchens of Bridgeton, a mother of five, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and later died from her injuries.
An investigation revealed the involvement of a second person, 35-year-old Francesca Delvalle of Vineland, who was also charged with murder. Her case is still going through legal proceedings.
The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office says the recommended sentences for first-degree murder are 30 years, a decade for attempted murder, and a varying number of years on the weapons charges. All sentences would run concurrently for an aggregate term of three decades behind bars without the possibility of parole.
Sentencing is scheduled for January 9th, 2026.
The prosecution is represented by Assistant Prosecutor Lindsey Seidel. Bundy-Johnson is represented by Andrew Impirale, Esq.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
