Maren Morris Didn’t Mean to Make People Think She Was Pregnant
In November 2018, Maren Morris was fully enjoying a much-needed trip to Paris with her new husband, Ryan Hurd. She was also was feeling very much in love, so she posted a photo of the pair of them to Instagram with the caption: "Gonna have your babies."
It didn't take long for her to see the error of her ways — that to some fans, the post read like a pregnancy announcement.
"I had had a couple of drinks at the hotel bar, and I was trying to be funny, like, 'I'm gonna have your babies," Morris recalls in an interview with People. "Everyone immediately was like, 'Is this your pregnancy announcement? I was like, 'Oh s--t, I really didn't think this one through.'"
Maren Morris' "Girl" Is an Anthem
Having children is something that Morris and Hurd — who married on March 24, 2018 — have talked about, but she's not sure now is the time.
"If you're gonna get married, you have to have those talks beforehand anyways, and I definitely know that I want a family, and he would be such an amazing dad — he's such a kid himself," Morris says. "I love his family, and he loves my family, so we've definitely had those conversations, and they’ve been really fun and exciting."
While she didn't reveal the couple's plans to have a baby, she did confirm that it's not happening "anytime soon!"
Morris just released "Girl" — the first taste of MM2, her TBA sophomore album.
