Hope the turtle wouldn't have made it through her first year of life in her condition if it weren't for the man who realized she deserved a shot.

A Hamilton Township Police Officer put his turtle wrestling skills to good use as he captured and helped relocate a big guy (or girl?) Friday.

In this corner is Sgt. Robell of the Hamilton Township Police Department. In the other corner we have Pete, a large snapping turtle.

Have you ever come across a creature from the sea, on the beach? Often, we find people surrounding, taking pictures, videos and selfies to document the rare occurrence. But if you were put in the situation to save the animal's life, would you know how to do it?

What do you feed an almost 300-pound turtle? That was the question facing the experts at the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine.

Members from the Coast Guard Station Cape May and the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine rescued this huge turtle that was tangled in fishing gear about 30 miles off of the coast.

I think I've forgotten everything I thought I knew about myself. Or something like that.

If you're going to keep saving the turtles, who's going to save the humans?

Birds do it. Bees do it. Turtles do it. Sometimes wrong.
