Three Atlantic City Police Officers are recovering from minor injuries sustained as they were trying to arrest a man wanted for kicking-in the front door to his ex-girlfriend’s home.

The ACPD says on the morning of September 30th, an officer was walking in the area of the 1400 block of Adams Court when he saw 35-year-old Khalil Washington of Atlantic City. An arrest flyer for Washington had been handed-out earlier that morning stemming from an incident on September 29th when police say he kicked-in the front door to his ex-girlfriend’s residence and threatened to have her assaulted.

As the officer attempted to arrest Washington, he began to fight and resist. After several minutes and the arrival of additional officers, Washington was placed in custody.

Washington and three officers were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division to be treated for minor injuries sustained during the arrest.

Washington has been charged with burglary, criminal mischief, terroristic threats, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault on a police officer. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
