Why I Will Stand During the National Anthem [OPINION]

When the National Anthem is played, as long as my body is willing, I will stand. Here's why I choose to stand.

Out of love and respect to my country.

Out of love, respect, and honor for all the brave men and women - including my late father - who have served our country at times of war and times of peace.

Out of love, respect, and honor for all the brave men and women who wear the uniforms of police, fire, EMS, and more. The people who protect and serve us without pause.

Out of love, respect, and honor for all the generations of Americans who have gone before us, and helped make our country great.
