June 15th is the day we observe #NationalSmilePowerDay.  This is a day for everyone to share the power of the smile!

DID YOU KNOW?
Research has proven that smiling really does help? Smiling will:

  •  increase attractiveness and likability between humans
  • create a greater trust and increased interpersonal cooperation
  • relax and relieve stress of you and others
  • lift your mood and can make you a happier person

So if you're at work and are miserable already because it's Thursday and NOT Friday (sorry to rub it in), SMILE!  No matter if they made your hoagie wrong at Wawa or you spilled your Dunkin',  starting the day with a smile is certainly more empowering than a pout or grump.

DID YOU KNOW?

It apparently takes less muscles in your face to smile then it does to frown? How many exactly? Well that's undetermined. I've heard something like 37 muscles to frown and 22 muscles to smile? But hey, even if that's not true or vice versa, exercise is good!

Starting your day with a smile first is easier than trying to get there later in the day.

When you smile at someone, you are telling them that they are valued and worth the smile that you just gave them!  Smiles are moral boosters and confidence builders.

So take part by challenging yourself to smile more often today!  Use a smile to disarm a tense situation, or simply smile during your daily tasks.  Take a picture, tag us in it, and use the hashtag #SmilePowerDay on social media!

Thursday's are hard, which is why we all needed this daily dose of good today. But if you know someone who is in need or is doing a daily dose of good, send us your story in a message to our Facebook Page!

P.S. - You know it's a holiday when you can get Joe Kelly to smile
