Sometimes when I get on social media, I immediately want to go back to bed and pretend that whatever I read would just go away. I try not to be a judgemental person, but sometimes my tolerance cannot handle the world. Today I hit a breaking point in what I could handle.

I wish that the headline was click bait or an over exaggeration, but sadly this is not the case. The story goes that a sarcophagus was found with three mummies in Alexandria, Egypt. Unfortunately, there was a crack in the granite coffin and sewage got into the coffin. The mummies were not in great condition and only the skeletons were left. The sarcophagus is estimated to be around 2,000 years old. Now let's get to the weird part.

There is a petition on Change.org titled "let people drink the red liquid from the dark sarcophagus." I weep for humanity. I can't tell if this a joke or if people are serious, but I cannot wrap my brain around this.

In the description the creator of the petition states, "[We] need to drink the red liquid from the cursed dark sarcophagus in the form of some sort of carbonated energy drink so we can assume its powers and finally die." My reasoning for doubting the seriousness of this petition is a post from the creator saying, "[Please] stop trying to tell me the skeleton juice is mostly sewage [that's] impossible everyone knows skeletons cannot poop."

Over 24,000 people have signed this petition and the numbers keep growing.

Let's break this down for you. People want to drink sewage that has been sloshing around with 2,000 year old bodies. I hang my head in shame.
