To reference Taylor Swift, there are two counties in New Jersey that seriously need to calm down because they were just named the two most stressed-out in the state.
We can all relate to feeling stressed at one time or another in today's fast-paced world. From work deadlines, personal issues, financial concerns, looking after kids, etc., the pressure can mount and become overwhelming. And when we're stressed-out we can become anxious and irritable.
When I get stressed, it can bring on headaches, my muscles get tight and tense, and then I feel exhausted and cranky.
Experts agree stress affects our lives during our waking hours and can even result in insomnia and restless nights, but who in New Jersey is feeling it the MOST?
Cape May Co., Salem Co., NJ Home to the State's Most Stressed-Out Residents
A recent study conducted by A Mission for Michael analyzing stress and anxiety among Americans over the last five years reportedly found that the most stressed-out residents in New Jersey live in two counties: Cape May County and Salem County.
Reviewing County Health Rankings, A Mission for Michael (a residential mental health treatment center with locations in California, Virginia, and Washington) was able to determine that people in Cape May County and Salem County reported feeling increased mental anxiety that rose by 5 percent between 2019 and 2024, the most of any other New Jersey counties.
