Workers at the Salem County Walmart warehouse, located on Gateway Boulevard in Pedrickstown, were notified of the closing in early May. They were reportedly presented with the opportunity to continue their employment at the new fulfillment center more than 150 miles away, according to roi-nj.com, and offered a $7,500 bonus, plus moving expenses.
Another incentive, according to Walmart, will be new state-of-the-art and ergonomically designed workstations where products that need shipping will go right to the workers instead of the workers having to walk the warehouse retrieving items.
