Atlantic City, N.J. — An Atlantic City man is likely headed to prison for several years in connection with joyriding and drug charges.

This past Thursday, 37-year-old Giovannie Belle (a.k.a. "Decourcey Belle") pleaded guilty to fourth-degree joyriding and two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance. His plea deal calls for four years in state prison.

Stolen Vehicle Leads to First Arrest

On August 10th, 2025, Galloway Township police were called to the Country View Inn and Suites in reference to a stolen vehicle. Police spoke with the victim, who said he had let an unknown man borrow his vehicle to go to the store, but the man never returned. The victim gave police a description of the suspect and vehicle. Shortly thereafter, police observed that vehicle near that hotel with the suspect, identified as Belle, standing outside of it. Police apprehended Belle at the scene.

Second Encounter Near AC Bus Terminal

On August 30th, New Jersey Transit Police Department officers observed Belle on his bicycle in the area of the Atlantic City Bus Terminal. Police attempted to stop Belle for questioning regarding an unrelated investigation. Belle fled from officers, but he was apprehended soon after in the area of The Boards AC motel. He was found in possession of fentanyl.

Arrest Near Circle K

On December 10th, Atlantic City officers were called to the Circle K for a shoplifting report. Police reviewed surveillance footage and obtained a description of the suspect, later identified as Belle. Police located him not too far from the store and he was found to have fentanyl.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 11th.
