
Prosecutor: Mays Landing, NJ, Man Is Guilty Of Carjacking
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has earned its latest guilty plea — as a Mays Landing, New Jersey man has pleaded guilty to carjacking.
Rayquan Summers Pleads Guilty

On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Rayquan Summers pleaded guilty before New Jersey Superior Court Judge Christine Smith.
Summers pleaded guilty to First-Degree Carjacking, in exchange for a recommended sentence of 8 years in New Jersey State Prison.
If Judge Smith accepts the plea agreement, Summers is required to serve 85 percent of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Has Released The Following Details

On January 11,2025, Hamilton Township Police officers responded to a report of an attempted carjacking in Mays Landing. It was reported that the male, later identified as Rayquan Summers, fled the scene on foot. The victim of the carjacking was a food delivery driver and making a delivery. While the victim was delivering food, Summers moved towards the victim's vehicle and entered it. The victim then ran back to his car and attempted to remove Summers from it. As he attempted to remove Summers, the vehicle drove a few teet. Then, Summers exited the vehicle, struck the victim in the face multiple times, resulting in a bloody nose, and fled towards Old Harding Highway on foot. A neighboring resident saw the incident and followed Summers and observed him enter Indian Oaks Apartments. Officers then found Summers inside the apartment building's laundry room and arrested him, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Summers Sentencing

Summers will be sentenced on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
